From time to time, we’re asked to upgrade UC applications with little to no impact to production operations. We can accomplish this by upgrading the UC apps on an isolated network; however, this often creates challenges as we don’t have access to production systems/services needed to perform UC application installs and upgrades. Some of these systems/services we use to workaround these issues include:
- NTP (Meinberg NTP Server)
- DNS (Hanewin DNS Server)
- SFTP (FreeFTPd)
- Active Directory (temporary Windows 2008 server with minimum accounts needed)
